Full Time Local CDL Truck Driver, Class A

Shipping Container Sales & Support - Full Time

Tom Kraemer Inc. is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Shipping Container Salesperson to join our growing team at our new Carlton, MN location. This position combines both inside and outside sales responsibilities, focusing on the sale and rental of shipping containers. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about building relationships, responding to inquiries, following up on leads, and providing excellent customer service. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to business growth while playing a hands-on part in selling and renting containers directly to customers.

Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Lead Management:

  • Answer inbound sales calls and follow up on leads to convert them into sales or rentals.
  • Engage with customers to understand their container needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Actively prospect and generate leads through online platforms, referrals, local networking, and occasional cold calling.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure repeat business and customer retention.
  • Provide accurate and timely quotes for container sales and rentals.
  • Manage the sales pipeline utilizing processes and software, from first contact through to closing deals and post-sale follow-up.
  • Manage and grow customer accounts to maintain a high level of satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Demonstrate container features and benefits by showcasing available stock in the yard.
  • Sell container modifications, ensuring customers receive the appropriate solutions to meet their needs.
  • Daily to weekly inspect inventory at primary location. Maintain working knowledge of companywide inventory.
  • Participate in occasional container repair or cleanup projects.

Customer Service & Operations:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries, solving issues, and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Assist with managing the flow of container inventory, ensuring availability and scheduling for customer orders.
  • Coordinate with dispatch and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, sales activities, and leads in the CRM system.

Marketing & Community Engagement:

  • Assist with local marketing efforts to promote the Carlton location and generate new business.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with local businesses, construction contractors, and other potential customers.
  • Represent the company at industry events and community activities to raise brand awareness and foster growth.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of sales experience, ideally in an industrial, construction, or logistics environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and explain product options clearly.
  • Ability to build rapport with customers and close sales effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable using CRM tools.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to meet customers.
  • Willingness to work outdoors and actively engage with customers in the yard to showcase available containers.
  • Ability to operate a forklift is a plus.
  • Basic skills in container repair is a plus.

Cold Spring, MN

Shipping Container Buyer – Full Time

Tom Kraemer Inc. (TKI) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Shipping Container Buyer to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing container procurement, inventory management, logistics coordination, and supporting sales for both TKI and Super Cubes USA. The ideal candidate will excel at building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring seamless operations. This position requires proficiency in Excel, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Container Procurement, Market Analysis & Inventory Management

  • Procure a range of shipping containers, including large bulk orders (3-6 per year) and smaller daily purchases (1,000+ units annually).
  • Negotiate favorable pricing with suppliers.
  • Monitor market trends and sales data to predict container availability and pricing, making data-driven purchasing decisions.
  • Work closely with depots to track container releases, in-gate reports, inventory status, and timely deliveries.
  • Confirm and reconcile all containers in-gates and approve invoices for payment.
  • Send in-gate reports to vendors as needed.
  • Conduct physical inspections of containers and assist in grading them by condition for quality control.
  • Spend time in the yard organizing and managing container inventory.
  • Provide weekly updates on container inventory, identifying any potential shortages or surpluses based on sales forecasts and current inventory.
  • Set weekly pricing for various markets.

Operations, Logistics & Coordination

  • Coordinate logistics for container deliveries, including  third-party and in-house trucking to shuttle containers to appropriate yards, such as moving containers purchased from Chicago to Minneapolis or other sites.
  • Oversee container releases and transportation arrangements to meet operational needs and deadlines.
  • Work closely with vendors and internal teams to resolve logistical issues and ensure containers are delivered on time and in the correct condition.
  • Coordinate with sales, purchasing, and operations teams to streamline container movement and inventory management.

Sales Support & Customer Interaction

  • Assist in container sales by supporting customer inquiries, walk-in sales, and overflow sales calls.
  • Provide support to the sales team, including finding specialty containers, analyzing market trends, offering costing insights, and handling special projects.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, suppliers, and vendors, serving as a container expert.
  • Provide coverage and sales assistance in branch locations as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain container inventory in the yard, ensuring proper storage and performing minor repairs or adjustments as needed.
  • Assist with forklift operations and other yard tasks (forklift experience is a plus).
  • Contribute to special projects such as container modifications, organizing container layouts, and improving yard operations.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in the logistics industry.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with the ability to secure favorable terms and maintain supplier and customer relationships.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze data, forecast needs, and manage purchasing decisions.
  • Hands-on experience with inventory.
  • Logistics experience, including coordinating transportation movement across multiple locations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to support sales efforts and manage customer relationships.
  • Forklift experience is a plus.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent time management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.

We are currently seeking a Yard Operator to help with our daily operations and keep our recycling center, yard and landfill clean, neat and organized at our Cold Spring facility.

Job Summary:

Assist in the operations of our public drop off center, Landfill, and yard operations. Also, perform various tasks assigned by Supervisor.

Duties and Essential Job Functions:

  • Help residential and commercial customers 1-2 days per week and intermittently
  • Process recyclables (i.e. Brewery and Pythons trailers)
  • Yard maintenance and organization (i.e. put away appliance, load metal, organize pallets, load compost, etc.)
  • Project work (i.e. painting, minor landscaping, yard Maintenance, organizing, building maintenance)
  • Backup landfill and transfer station operator
  • Assist co-workers in tasks related to their department
  • Maintain the work quality standards that have been set for each department
  • Properly separate and save all different items of value (brass, wire, electronics, motors, etc.)
  • Salvage reusable items (mowers, furniture, building materials, small engines, etc.)
